Carolyn L. | The Root Cause Protocol helped me with High Liver Enzyme Results – Finally some answers!

Carolyn L. | The Root Cause Protocol helped me with High Liver Enzyme Results – Finally some answers!

My liver enzyme tests have always been high for much of my life and no doctor has ever found a reason for it. Until now! My liver tests are now in the normal range, falling every time we tested since I started the RCP. This is amazing to me, no one, not even the top liver specialists in my state have been able to give me answers about my liver! I guess having all that iron sequestered in my liver was the “root cause” for me!

I have been following the RCP under the direction of my functional medicine practitioner for about 6 months. She said the most important things are to do the stops but focus on donating blood every 8 weeks and eating liver every week. I wasn’t sure if I could do this but learned to make pâté and have a little every day with almond flour crackers. I actually like it now! I feel much better in general and my digestion has improved greatly.

I have other issues including Celiac disease and strictly follow an autoimmune diet with only a few reintroductions, but the RCP has been the only thing to finally solve some of my toughest problems. I’m so glad I found someone who works with this protocol!

Dr Ruscio | Could Supplementing With Iron Be Harming You? | October 19, 2019

Dr Ruscio | Could Supplementing With Iron Be Harming You? | October 19, 2019

Listen

Morley Robbins met with Dr Ruscio earlier in 2019 and there’s a fantastic podcast available and extensive notes, whereby you can get a deeper understanding of many aspects of the RCP.

They talked about the impact of insufficient copper on the body, including how iron and copper interact, and how that impacts on our body.

Low ferritin isn’t necessarily telling us that we have low iron – it doesn’t give us a full picture. Iron in the blood isn’t the same as iron in the tissue.

Morley shared citations to research he’s read going back to 1976 regarding ferritin in the blood, actually lacking iron, so its use as an iron marker being inappropriate for the context it is so commonly relied upon.

“Is iron insufficiency a total myth? Is copper the answer? Morley Robbins joins us to share his take on what’s really going on with iron and copper in our bodies. ”
They talked about the common misunderstanding on copper deficiency signs and how they are often said to be from iron deficiency – understanding is required of the critical pathways copper is required in so a more complete picture can be seen.
